The One on Planning

I'm reading a book called "Getting Students to Show Up: Practical ideas for any outreach event from 10 to 10,000" by Jonathan McKee. It is a great book with some good insights for planning events that I'm looking forward to applying the principles to the ministries I'm involved with.

This quote on page 89 hit me hard and caused me to see that God is a God of order and He blesses planning.

"Sometimes we blame the Holy Spirit for our own laziness. Don't throw around the phrase "Let's see what the Spirit leads us to do" as an excuse for not planning." -Jonathan McKee

    I just finished reading Tony Dungy's book - Quiet Strength - and he follows "no excuses - no explanations" I love it! If I don't try to make excuses - I don't have to explain why something never happened like it was planned out to happen :)
